The Dixon family has been
farming at this location since May 1951. It started with my
great-grandfather who, along with his wife, farmed the land
around his home and raised 4 children while working in a
hardware store in Decherd. Several years down the road my
grandfather was also farming and working a full time job.
He eventually quit his job so he could farm full time.
Years later, my father has joined his father in the farming
vocation. Corn, wheat, and soybeans are grown and we also
background cattle and sell bales of straw. As the fourth
generation, my brother, sister, and I are taking grandaddy’s
farm down a new pathway in agriculture by sharing what we
have enjoyed for years with you, the public.
Andrew Dixon,
great-grandson
